Wright Business Park
The Wright Business Park is an official City of Chicago industrial corridor. It is home to several well-known and long-established manufacturers such as Columbia Metal Spinning which provides the latest technology in metal stamping, deep drawing, CNC machining centers and PNC automatic spinning lathes. Others include Oberg Industries Medical Machining Center; MPS Chicago Paper Tube & Can Co. a maker of sustainable packaging for health and beauty, home care, and gourmet food products in Chicago since 1898; and, of course, the world-famous Eli’s Cheesecake.
Fruitful partnerships have developed between area businesses and nearby Wilbur Wright College located just to the east of the industrial corridor. The college has collaborated with the businesses to tailor classes for their employees. At the same time, the businesses have had ready access to excellent student interns and new graduates for employees.
Sitting near the crossroads of two major thoroughfares, Narragansett and Montrose Avenues on Chicago’s Northwest side, Wright Business Park is located just a few miles from the Kennedy Expressway (I-90) and minutes from O’Hare International Airport by car. It is accessible by public transportation by CTA bus directly or the bus via the Blue Line train.
Effective December 31, 2018, the Read Dunning TIF district was terminated nine years before its planned expiration date having successfully achieved its goal of supporting the mixed-use redevelopment of the former Chicago-Read Mental Health Center.
